The Prairie Club’s Pines Course Makes Larry the Cable Guy’s Top 10

Golf and comedy seem to go hand-in-hand.

Many of the great comedians in history have developed a relationship with our beloved game. Renowned comedian Bob Hope was one of the first advocates for golf and for a long-time hosted a PGA Tour event bearing his name. Bill Murray was made famous by his memorable role in the movie Caddyshack, playing the aloof maintenance worker named Carl Spackler. Adam Sandler, Ray Romano, Lewis Black, the list goes on and on.

Golf just added another comedian.

In a recent article released by LINKS Magazine, former Blue Collar Comedy Tour member Daniel Lawrence Whitney (Larry the Cable Guy), was asked to rank his 10 favorite golf experiences.

The Pines Course at The Prairie Club earned Larry's number 3 ranking behind Sand Hills Golf Club in Mullen and Wailea in Hawaii.

Larry had taken up the game as a young man, but after a long hiatus, decided to take it up again. Despite being new (re-introduced) to the game, he's fallen in love and now even owns a golf simulator he practices in from his Nebraska home. It has become a main hobby for him.

We can thank PGA Tour player Boo Weekley for giving him the golf bug.
